Volleyball Recap: Hoffman Estates Takes a Loss

Hoffman Estates was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Conant Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in April.

While Hoffman Estates was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23.

Nithin Murugan paced Hoffman Estates' offense, picking up seven kills. Murugan got some help from Nathaniel Ham and his 13 assists.

Hoffman Estates' loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Conant, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Hoffman Estates has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Schaumburg on the 6th. After both having extra time off, Conant and Palatine will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
