Volleyball Recap: Bald Eagle Area Takes a Loss

After flying high against Huntingdon on Thursday, Bald Eagle Area came back down to earth. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers on Monday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Tigers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Bald Eagle Area started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 11-25, 25-18, 25-18, 26-24.

Leah Bryan paced Bald Eagle Area's offense, picking up 20 kills. Bryan got some help from Casey Angellotti and her 35 assists. Finally, Bryan was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Bald Eagle Area's loss dropped their record down to 21-6-2. As for Hollidaysburg, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Bald Eagle Area didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Williamsport on the 15th. As for Hollidaysburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Altoona on the 14th.
