Basketball Recap: Skyler Orton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Syracuse over Olympus

Syracuse was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Olympus Titans. The contest marked Syracuse's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Syracuse lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Skyler Orton, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradlee Trejo, who posted ten points and three steals.

Syracuse's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Olympus, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Syracuse will take on Clearfield in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Syracuse's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Olympus, they will venture away from home to take on Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
