Softball Recap: Great Crossing Takes a Loss

After flying high against Western Hills on Tuesday, Great Crossing came back down to earth. Great Crossing took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Montgomery County Indians on Wednesday. If Great Crossing was looking for revenge after losing 5-4 to Montgomery County when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Emma Sutton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Green, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Great Crossing has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Montgomery County, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Great Crossing has already played their next contest, a 14-7 defeat against Franklin County on the 18th. As for Montgomery County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-1 loss against Harrison County on the 18th.
