The Princeton Tigers won the last time they faced the Newman Central Catholic Comets, and things went their way on Thursday too. Princeton managed a 56-50 victory over Newman Central Catholic. Given Princeton's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Newman Central Catholic is ranked 466th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Princeton to victory were Miyah Marie fox and Keighley Davis. Marie fox scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Davis scored 22 points along with six steals. The contest was Davis' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Paige Jesse was another key contributor, scoring three points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Princeton's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Newman Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Princeton will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Newark at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Newman Central Catholic will take on River Ridge/Scales Mound in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at.
