Softball Recap: Lathrop Malemutes vs. Colony Knights
Lathrop extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-9. They lost 12-0 to the Colony Knights. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent defeat being a 25-2 loss last Friday.
As for Colony, their victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 31-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.
For Colony's part, Emma Minnick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Minnick has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Taylor Passard was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Meghan Schoon was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
As of now, neither Lathrop nor Colony have any future games scheduled.
