Navarro suffers 17th straight loss on the road

Recap: Navarro Vikings vs. Wimberley Texans

The Navarro Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Wimberley, falling 73-25. While losing is never fun, Navarro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1447th, while Wimberley is ranked 483rd).

Ethan Sharp was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points for Wimberley. Another player making a difference was Reece Wortham, who scored seven points along with six assists and four steals.

Navarro bumped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Wimberley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.

Navarro and Lockhart will face off at 9:30 a.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Wimberley, they will stay at home for another game and welcome East View at 6:30 p.m. on December 30th.
