Volleyball Recap: Mattamuskeet Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Mattamuskeet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Eastern Christian HomeSchool Trailblazers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trailblazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Friday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 18-25, 25-23.

Carsyn Marshall paced Mattamuskeet's offense, picking up eight kills. Marshall were helped by Akira Allen and Savanah Whitfield, who contributed four assists each. Whitfield also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with LaKhyiah Gibbs, racking up four apiece.

Mattamuskeet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Eastern Christian HomeSchool, their win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Looking ahead, Mattamuskeet will square off against Washington Montessori at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastern Christian HomeSchool, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Terra Ceia Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
