Basketball Game Preview: Cabrillo Jaguars vs. Compton Tarbabes

Cabrillo and Compton are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Cabrillo Jaguars just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Compton Tarbabes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cabrillo knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Compton likes a good challenge.

Cabrillo will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Jordan, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Cabrillo strolled past Jordan with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 66-50.

Meanwhile, Compton took a blow against Woodrow Wilson on Wednesday, falling 102-39. The defeat continues a trend for the Tarbabes in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now lost six in a row.

Cabrillo is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Compton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

Everything came up roses for Cabrillo against Compton in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 93-50 victory. Will Cabrillo repeat their success, or does Compton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
