Baseball Recap: Hugoton Triumphs

Hugoton hadn't done well against Elkhart recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles walked away with an 8-4 win over the Wildcats. Surprisingly, this marked the seventh straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Hugoton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Elkhart, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hugoton will host Goodland on Tuesday. The Cowboys have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.25 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Elkhart, they will square off against Sublette on Tuesday. The game will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season.
