Basketball Recap: Marian Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Marian Central Catholic lost against Wheaton Academy back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hurricanes had to suffer through a 61-33 loss at the hands of the Warriors. The Hurricanes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.

Despite the loss, Marian Central Catholic still got an impressive performance from Connor Brandt, who shot 53% from the field on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. Lukasz Zuwala also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Marian Central Catholic now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Wheaton Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Marian Central Catholic will welcome Christ the King at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gladiators' defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so the Hurricanes' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Wheaton Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Elgin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
