Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Wolves vs. Farmington Cardinals

Lincoln is 0-5 against Farmington since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Wolves will head out on the road to take on the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If Lincoln beats Farmington with 12 runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Wolves put the hurt on Elkins with a sharp 12-1 victory on Thursday. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Elks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, while Farmington put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Springdale. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Bulldogs.

Farmington is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Lincoln might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Farmington when the teams last played back in March. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
