Volleyball Recap: Whitehouse's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Whitehouse unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Ryan Raiders by a score of 2-1. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Raiders when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Whitehouse sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-27, 16-14.

Abigail Vasquez was nothing short of spectacular for Ryan: she had 29 digs and two aces. What's more, Vasquez posted five assists, the most she's had over her last six contests. Another player making a difference was Preslie Shiflett, who had 13 digs.

Whitehouse's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Ryan, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Whitehouse will take on Jacksonville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ryan, they will face off against Panther Creek at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
