Basketball Game Preview: Denver Waldorf Spartans vs. Arickaree Bison

The Denver Waldorf Spartans will take on the Arickaree Bison at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Arickaree will be up against a hot Denver Waldorf squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went Denver Waldorf's way against Mile High Academy on Tuesday as Denver Waldorf made off with a 63-43 win. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Mustangs are ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Denver Waldorf's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Henry Lottridge, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 13 boards, and Cayden Quinn, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Quinn is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 34 games he's played dating back to last season. Seth Carr was another key player, putting up two points and seven steals.

Denver Waldorf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mile High Academy only pulled down five offensive boards.

Meanwhile, Arickaree blew past Bethune, posting a 59-16 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bison.

Arickaree's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.7 points per game. As for Denver Waldorf, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.

Denver Waldorf strolled past Arickaree when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a score of 53-39. Does Denver Waldorf have another victory up their sleeve, or will Arickaree turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
