Basketball Game Preview: Sheridan Generals vs. New Lexington Panthers

The Sheridan Generals will take on the New Lexington Panthers in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Sheridan is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering River View just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Black Bears. The loss was the Generals' first of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for New Lexington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 55-47 win over West Muskingum on Friday.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sheridan fell to 3-1. As for New Lexington, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-2.

Sheridan came up short against New Lexington in their previous matchup back in January, falling 57-48. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of New Lexington's Isaiah Stephens, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 29 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.
