Softball Recap: Yough Cougars vs. Charleroi Cougars
Yough had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-8 to make it five. They fell just short of Charleroi by a score of 4-2. Yough was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Charleroi apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.
Yough saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylee Odelli, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
As for Charleroi, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
On Charleroi's side, the team relied heavily on Nori Stringa-Smith, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Stringa-Smith a new career-high.
