Basketball Recap: Glenbrook South Extends Winning Streak to Four

Glenbrook South waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 67-61 W against the Maine East Blue Demons. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Blue Demons are ranked 426th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Glenbrook South pushed their record up to 18-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Maine East, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

Looking ahead, Glenbrook South will challenge Niles West at 7:30 p.m. on February 26th. Maine East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
