Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Kennedy

Kennedy proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Manual Thunderbolts 15-14. With that victory, the Commanders brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Xavier Benavidez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Nielsen, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

Kennedy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .543. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win (which was Kennedy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Manual, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Kennedy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-4 defeat against DSST: Montview on the 16th. As for Manual, they will square off against Bruce Randolph at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.29 runs per game on average), something the Thunderbolts will no doubt try to take advantage of.
