Basketball Recap: Meadowdale Comes Up Short

Meadowdale was the 91-41 winner over Monroe when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Meadowdale Mavericks were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 50-49 to the Monroe Bearcats. The match marked the Mavericks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meadowdale's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Monroe, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Coming up, Meadowdale will challenge Mount Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monroe, they will venture away from home to face off against Stanwood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stanwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Monroe likes a good challenge.
