Baseball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

Riverdale managed to slip by Elmwood the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Falcons came up short against the Royals on Wednesday, falling 19-9. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kydin Reed made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Riverdale's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

Riverdale's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-7. As for Elmwood, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverdale will venture away from home to take on Cory-Rawson at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Elmwood, they will head out to face off against Huron at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
