Baseball Game Preview: Boonville Pioneers vs. North Posey Vikings

The Boonville Pioneers will take on the North Posey Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Boonville was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Princeton 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pioneers have posted since April 14th.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Posey, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over Forest Park on Tuesday.

Colby Angel made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Kade Buecher was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.

North Posey pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Boonville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
