Volleyball Recap: Cambria Heights Takes a Loss

Cambria Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marion Center Stingers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Highlanders of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Cambria Heights took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-14, 16-25, 28-26, 15-10.

Regan Conrad paced Cambria Heights' offense, picking up 17 kills. Conrad got some help from Jordan Westrick and her 16 assists. Conrad was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Cambria Heights' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Marion Center, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Cambria Heights has already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Purchase Line on the 2nd. As for Marion Center, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against United on the 2nd.
