Cherryville won against Highland Tech last Tuesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Ironmen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Rams. The win was nothing new for the Ironmen as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Talon Dalton was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Bryson Withers, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Cherryville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Highland Tech, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Coming up, Cherryville will venture away from home to face off against West Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Highland Tech, they will welcome Mountain Island Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
