While Mandeville's victory against Covington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Mandeville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over Covington on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Skippers have posted since March 11th.

Mandeville got a great performance from Mia Baham as she struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Baham has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mia Graefenstein was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Lindsay Berniard was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Mandeville's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Covington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mandeville will square off against rival Ponchatoula at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Covington is set to take on their familiar foe Hammond on Thursday.
