Basketball Recap: Blake Weston's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ogden over Union

Ogden extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Union Cougars. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 42-37 to the Cougars when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ogden lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Blake Weston, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. Dallin Eliason also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

As for Union, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since January 17th.

Union's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bo Earl led the charge by putting up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Compton Anderson, who posted nine points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Coming up, Ogden will square off against Providence Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Union, they will challenge Uintah at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
