Football Recap: New Lothrop Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact New Lothrop can now relate to. They lost 35-13 to the Springport Spartans on Friday. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Springport's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gibson Overweg led the charge by rushing for 59 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 109 yards and one TD while completing 72.7% of his passes. What's more, Overweg posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September. Springport also got a significant boost from Kaden Woyame, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 161 yards.

New Lothrop's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Springport, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

New Lothrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Springport, they will face off against Hudson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine matchups.
