Washington Heights Expeditionary extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 5-1 in the process. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over Community Health Academy. That's more bragging rights for Washington Heights Expeditionary, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

David Marte was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lizmardo Arias, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

As for Community Health Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked their highest-scoring matchup to date.

On Community Health Academy's side, they got a good showing from Jose Flores, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Flores has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Rodriguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season. Chris Reynoso was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Washington Heights Expeditionary will square off against Douglass Academy at 4:00 p.m. on the 9th. As for Community Health Academy, they will take on Math Science & Engineering at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
