Softball Recap: Eva Parris Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Beaver

Blackhawk hadn't done well against Beaver recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bobcats a 2-0 shutout. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 victory the Bobcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

The result came thanks to Kylie Prisuta's shutout, as she gave up just three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Blackhawk saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eva Parris, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That double was Parris' first of the season.

Blackhawk's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4. As for Beaver, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Blackhawk does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Beaver, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Ambridge at 4:15 p.m. The Bridgers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
