Softball Recap: Oregon City Find Success

Oregon City won the last time they faced McDaniel and things went their way on Thursday too. The Oregon City Pioneers came out on top against the McDaniel Mountain Lions by a score of 8-3.

Piper Berrington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Oregon City let Maggie Schneider and Allie Oliver run wild. Schneider went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one triple, while Oliver got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run and two runs. The dominant performance gave Schneider a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Stromme, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The win got Oregon City back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Oregon City will square off against Barlow at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for McDaniel, they will face off against Mountainside at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
