Baseball Game Preview: Harper Woods Pioneers vs. Southfield Arts & Tech Warriors

For the second straight game, Harper Woods will face off against Southfield Arts & Tech. The Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Harper Woods made easy work of Southfield Arts & Tech and carried off a 12-4 win. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Ecari West was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. West was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Kwintyn Powers and Quinton Durr did most of the damage at the plate: Powers scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Durr scored a run and stole five bases while going 1-for-2. Those five stolen bases gave Durr a new career-high.

Harper Woods' win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Southfield Arts & Tech, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
