Basketball Game Preview: Westlake Rams vs. LaGrange Gators

The Westlake Rams will head out on the road to take on the LaGrange Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. LaGrange took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Westlake, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Westlake strolled past Jennings with points to spare, taking the game 46-29. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 203rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, LaGrange was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 63-23 loss at the hands of Midland.

Westlake has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points over those games. As for LaGrange, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Westlake strolled past LaGrange in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 46-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westlake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
