Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Black River). They never let the Oberlin Phoenix get on the board and left with  an   18-0  win  on Wednesday. The  victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Phoenix: they've now won six in a row.
 Rebekah Miller was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Miller was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.
 In other batting news, Black River got a  massive  performance out of  Remi Dieter, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI. What's more,  Dieter posted two  hits, the most she's  had since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Mallory Eckert, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Black River  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .676. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  OBP total in three consecutive  contests.
Black River's record now sits at 10-5. As for Oberlin,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-6.
 Coming up, Black River will be playing at home against Waynedale  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Bears have averaged an impressive 7.6  runs per game this season. As for Oberlin, they will head out to  square off against Firelands  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
