Baseball Game Preview: Washington Panthers vs. East Peoria Raiders

For the second straight game, Washington will face off against East Peoria. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Raiders at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Washington 3.8, East Peoria 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Washington's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past East Peoria 1-0. The result came thanks to Carter Prina's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Washington secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Gavin Lawrence, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Washington has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
