Volleyball Recap: Clear Lake Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Clear Lake extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Ayla Monson. The Warriors walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Spring Valley Cardinals on Tuesday for which the team can thank Monson, who had 24 assists and seven digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Clear Lake had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-16.

Despite the defeat, Spring Valley had strong showings from Kemri Schlegel, who had 19 digs and three aces, and Katie Matthys, who had 15 kills, 14 digs, and two blocks.

Clear Lake's win bumped their record up to 22-8. As for Spring Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.

Looking ahead, Clear Lake will head out to take on Shell Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Spring Valley has already played their next match (against Elmwood/Plum City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
