Baseball Game Preview: Todd County Central Rebels vs. Clarksville Christian Centurions

The Todd County Central Rebels will face off against the Clarksville Christian Centurions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Todd County Central came out on top against Warren Central on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Rebels' pitcher stepped up to hand the Dragons a 12-0 shutout. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rebels as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Todd County Central let Hunter Johnson and Conner Wheeler run wild. Johnson went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Wheeler got on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. Wheeler is becoming a predictor of Todd County Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-8 when he doesn't). Landon Haley also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Clarksville Christian came out on top against Heritage Christian Academy back in April thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Centurions were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Warriors.

The win got Clarksville Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Todd County Central, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Todd County Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Clarksville Christian in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 9-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
