Coram Deo Academy extends home losing streak to four

Recap: Coram Deo Academy Lions vs. Bishop Gorman Crusaders

The Coram Deo Academy Lions suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Saturday. They were dealt a 92-50 loss at the hands of Bishop Gorman. While losing is never fun, Coram Deo Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1487th, while Bishop Gorman is ranked 507th).

Bishop Gorman found their leader in underclassman Ej Coppock, who went 12 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and 1 assist. That's the first time this season that Coppock scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Richbourg, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Coram Deo Academy bumped their record down to 2-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for Bishop Gorman, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Coram Deo Academy will head out on the road to square off against Westlake Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westlake Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Bishop Gorman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lone Star North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
