Basketball Recap: Asheboro Beats North Davidson for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Asheboro had won three straight games and Osiris Rodriguez did his part to make it four on Tuesday. The Asheboro Blue Comets walked away with a 66-54 win over the North Davidson Black Knights thanks in part to Rodriguez, who went 9-for-15 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played.

Jalial Timmons was another key player, going 6-for-13 to rack up 15 points and three steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2024.

North Davidson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Drew Hege, who had 12 points and five steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.6% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Forrest, who went 5-for-10 en route to 14 points.

Asheboro's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for North Davidson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Asheboro has already played their next match, a 67-62 defeat against Ledford on the 7th. As for North Davidson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-49 loss against Central Davidson on the 7th.
