Basketball Game Preview: Greenville Patriots vs. Mt. Zion Eagles

The Greenville Patriots will face off against the Mt. Zion Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Greenville has five straight victories, Mt. Zion has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Greenville blew past Manchester, posting a 68-41 win. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mt. Zion came up short against Bowdon on Tuesday and fell 60-50.

Greenville pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for Mt. Zion, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Everything came up roses for Greenville against Mt. Zion in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, as the team secured an 84-56 win. Will Greenville repeat their success, or does Mt. Zion have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
