Volleyball Recap: Avalynn Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Trinity over Union Academy + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Trinity can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Union Academy Cardinals on Thursday. The shutout was out of character for the Bulldogs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

While Trinity was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 25-17.

Trinity lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Avalynn Johnson, who had 23 assists and six digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last 52 times she's played. Charlee Phillips was another key player, getting eight digs and three aces.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Union Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-5.

Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Draughn on the 25th.
