Baseball Recap: Carlmont's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Carlmont gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Burlingame Panthers. The game was the first time the Scots have beaten the Panthers on their field since April 20, 2022.

The team relied heavily on Pano Koutoulas, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Carlmont: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-12 otherwise. Aidan O'Driscoll was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

With the victory, Carlmont broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-12. As for Burlingame, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Carlmont will challenge Sacred Heart Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Burlingame, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-6 win against Santa Cruz on the 3rd.
