Baseball Recap: Choctawhatchee Finds Playoff Glory Versus St. Augustine

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Choctawhatchee had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 victory over the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 on Monday.

Seth Young was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gant Folendore, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Choctawhatchee lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Choctawhatchee is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season. As for St. Augustine, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.

Looking ahead, Choctawhatchee will head out on the road to square off against Arnold at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Marlins will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. St. Augustine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
