Baseball Preview: Chestertown Christian Academy Patriots vs. Greenwood Mennonite Flames
The Chestertown Christian Academy Patriots will head out to face off against the Greenwood Mennonite Flames at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Chestertown Christian Academy can't be too happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Friday. They lost 13-0 to Holly Grove Christian. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.
Meanwhile, Greenwood Mennonite never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Varsity Opponent. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flames.
The result came thanks to Trenton Tempel (HS)'s shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Greenwood Mennonite is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Jeremy Tennefoss was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Blake Mast was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
