Basketball Recap: Horse Creek Academy Comes Up Short

Horse Creek Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 72-60 to the Williston-Elko Blue Devils. The Stallions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Horse Creek Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aidan Walls posted 28 points. The game was Walls' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Zack James was another key player, putting up ten points.

Horse Creek Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Williston-Elko, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Horse Creek Academy will be playing at home against Wagener-Salley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Horse Creek Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season. As for Williston-Elko, they will face off against Hunter-Kinard-Tyler at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
