Volleyball Recap: Boone Braves vs. Colonial Grenadiers
Boone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Colonial Grenadiers. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grenadiers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
While Boone had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 22-25, 25-23.
Jeremiah Greenwood paced Boone's offense, picking up 16 kills. Greenwood got some help from Jackson Ayoung-Chee and his 16 assists. Finally, Daunte Miller kept Boone's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
Boone's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Colonial, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.
After both having extra time off, Boone and Edgewater will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Colonial, they will take on East River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
