Recap: Dixie Flyers vs. Mountain View Bruins

The Dixie Flyers won the last time they faced the Mountain View Bruins, and things went their way on Friday too. Dixie strolled past Mountain View with points to spare, taking the game 71-54. Given Dixie's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Mountain View is ranked 72nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dixie's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Breckon Robinson, who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 assists.

Despite the defeat, Mountain View saw an underclassman step up: Bryce Mella scored 24 points. Mella also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Daniel Hair, who scored six points along with three steals.

Dixie's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Dixie will take on Westlake at 3:10 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Snow Canyon at 1:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Allowing an average of 50 points per game, Snow Canyon has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game.
