Cheyenne is a perfect 4-0 against Pinecrest Academy Cadence since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cheyenne Desert Shields will be taking part in a tournament against the Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars at 11:00 a.m. Cheyenne is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Thursday, Cheyenne made easy work of Del Sol and carried off an 18-3 win. The Desert Shields might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.

Raider Campos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Tapa Gamoras and Esai Esparza did most of the damage at the plate: Gamoras scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Esparza scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, Esparza posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Taven Thaker was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Cheyenne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del Sol only posted an OBP of .381.
Meanwhile, Pinecrest Academy Cadence lost 27-3 to Eldorado on Wednesday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Martinez, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1. Casey White also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Cheyenne's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cheyenne has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, though, as they've been averaging 11.2 hits. Given Cheyenne's sizable advantage in that area, Pinecrest Academy Cadence will need to find a way to close that gap.
