Basketball Recap: Miller Place Panthers vs. Mount Sinai Mustangs

Miller Place was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 81-64 to the Mount Sinai Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-50 back in December of 2024.

Mount Sinai got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dominic Pennzello out in front who posted 19 points and six rebounds. Pennzello has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Brock Kolsch was another key player, putting up 12 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Miller Place's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mount Sinai, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

Miller Place does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Sinai, they will venture away from home to face off against Kings Park at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Mount Sinai knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 games -- so hopefully Kings Park likes a good challenge.
