Preview: Lee Central Stallions vs. Marion Swamp Foxes
After four games on the road, Lee Central is heading back home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Marion Swamp Foxes at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Tuesday.
On Monday, Lee Central was able to grind out a solid win over Hartsville, taking the game 61-53.
Lee Central found their leader in underclassman Kiauj Allen, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamisen Wilds, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Marion entered their tilt with Hannah-Pamplico with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Marion blew past Hannah-Pamplico 68-46. Given Marion's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Hannah-Pamplico is ranked 244th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lee Central's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Marion, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Lee Central came up short against Marion in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 56-49. Can Lee Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
