Baseball Recap: Petersburg Comes Up Short

Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 17-6 to the Ketchikan Kings. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Kings this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-8 loss back in April.

Petersburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Gibson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Logan Tow was another, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Petersburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Ketchikan, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Kings beat Petersburg by a score of 12-0 later that day.
