It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Wilkes can now relate to. They came up short against the McMichael Phoenix on Thursday, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the Vikings seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.
North Wilkes was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made McMichael work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 26-24, 25-14.
With the defeat, North Wilkes broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-8. As for McMichael, their victory was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-2.
North Wilkes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McMichael, they will play host again on Saturday to welcome Maiden, where the match is scheduled at 3:00 p.m. Maiden will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something McMichael surely won't give up without a fight.
